Community Events – a service of The Media Action Group
With the coming US Election, many people will want to hear Barry Rubin’s views on how this election could impact Israel and the Middle East. Prof. Rubin is feeling much better but is not allowed to fly – thus he will be will be speaking on a big screen using Skype – as well we are most fortunate in having Lawrence Solomon to act as moderator and help run the Q and A. It will be a very exciting event. See below…
As well, with the recent Boycott by United Church, you will want to hear the expert panel below discuss this serious issue.

BARRY RUBIN, one of Israel’s most brilliant Middle East political analysts, Director of the GLORIA CENTER, Author of The Rubin Report , Featured Columnist at Pajamas Media, Editor MERIA Journal, Editor Turkish Studies, Author of over 23 books. His most recent book is Israel: An Introduction (Yale) and his book Nazis, Islamists, and the Making of the Modern Middle East will be published by Yale in 2013.
THE DISCUSSION: The Middle East has gone through its most tumultuous 18 months in the last six decades. Revolutions in Egypt, Tunisia, Libya; upheavals in other countries; and a civil war in Syria have shaken the region. There are about eight simultaneous crises and U.S. policy seems to be failing badly. Israel’s interests are very much in play and Iran continues to race forward on obtaining nuclear weapons. What can we expect in the coming year and how will the November 6 U.S. elections affect these situations?

3. The play “Nazi Hunter, The Simon Wiesenthal Story.”
As reviewed by Reva Stern:
You will be amazed to discover surprises and rewards in the writing and performance by the genius actor/creator of this masterful piece of theatre. There was an amazing review in the Post. By now there are probably many more kudos to add to that singular review I happened to see.
“Nazi Hunter” is the opening production of the 2012/13 Harold Green Jewish Theatre season – Artistic Directors, David Eisner and Avery Saltzman have shown us that they’re serious about bringing quality theatre to Toronto.
It will be at the Toronto Centre for the Arts on Yonge St. just north of Sheppard.
It is only here until Thursday October 18th so call up and reserve while you can.
Anyway, in the spirit of sharing the wealth, this is a precious gem.
