Parshah Ki Tavo – Deuteronomy 26:1-29:8
Torah Reading for Week of September 2-8, 2012 – Elul 15-21 5772

This Shabbat, the Torah Parsha Ki Tavo will be read in all Shuls. “… Because you did not serve G-d with happiness and with gladness of heart, in abundance of everything; therefore, you shall serve your enemies… “ (28:47-48)

Because you did not serve G-d when you enjoyed happiness and the abundance of all good things, you shall now suffer want. (Rashi)

Not only did you sin, you did so “with happiness and with gladness of heart” — for this the punishment is doubly severe. (Maayanah Shel Torah)

Even though you served G-d, you did not serve him with joy — that is the source of all afflictions. (Maimonides)

When Jewish brothers and sisters do not perceive any positive reason for living as a Jew, the net result is self hatred and admiration for others which includes haters of Jews. The organization J Street, personifies self hate in the collective.  Our challenge is to inspire our people to have self respect and love of Israel.

The Jewish Defence League is inviting the public to join them in observing the 11th anniversary of the Sept. 11, 2001 terrorist attacks on America at a Remembrance Service and Candlelight Vigil at 7 p.m. Tuesday September 11 at 720 Kennedy Road (the most likely Omar Khadr residence).

The observance will include a call for the Government of Canada not to allow Terrorist Omar Khadr to return to Canada. Omar Khadr has admitted he was an “alien, unprivileged, enemy, belligerent,” unqualified to engage in combat hostilities with U.S. or other coalition forces in Afghanistan. He has also admitted guilt for “murder in violation of the laws of war,” and his membership in al-Qaeda.

As a result of the JDL planned candlelight vigil, supporters of al-Queda terrorist Omar Khadr have spoken up.

Let me be very clear, the supporters of al-Queda terrorist Omar Khadr should be filmed and documented.

Blazing Cat Fur provided the following post that exposes their pro Hitler feelings:They walk among us…

My what a handsome couple….of dhimmis

And now a word from Zaynab Khadr, Omar’s loving sister… the following article she posted on her facebook page– One more point, Ian Macdonald is a long time Nazi supporter and his lawyer Doug Christie is also a Khadr supporter.

Dear Sir,
Omar Khadr – terrorist or hero?
Sophisticated readers wise to the ways of Western journalism will have no difficulty discerning the extreme prejudice behind the frenzied attacks on “child soldier” Omar Khadr by the media, nor will they fail to recognize the partisan origin of the vitriolic rhetoric and distortion of the events surrounding his capture.
The inconvenient facts are that Omar came from a respectable family much concerned over human rights abuses and ready to contribute in real terms to the defence of their values in Afghanistan, just as the American government was intent on imposing its values, the former, however, spurred by principle, the latter by pressure from avaricious International Oil and the Israeli Lobby.
Omar’s “crime” was his alleged support of the Taliban, but the accusation rings hollow since the Taliban had been empowered by America in their defence against the Russian occupation and became “terrorists” only after they opposed an even more exploitative occupation by America. Essentially, the Taliban fought, justifiably, for the independence of their country, serving what they and their co-religionists from other countries, including the Canadian Khadrs, saw as a noble cause. The analogy of young Canadians rushing to the defence of their British kin in WWII is not strained.
To construe the isolated Khadrs’ ill-fated attempt to defend themselves from a vicious attack by unidentified, much superior forces as “terrorism” is equally a case of standing reality on its head. Omar’s father, an incorruptible former academic, was killed in the American-Pakistani assault, his brother was shot in the back as he lay wounded (and paralyzed for life). Omar, with exceptional courage for a 15 year old, bravely rose to the occasion – whether or not he threw the grenade that killed the (inexplicably-involved) U.S. Army medic,
Omar was imprisoned, while any American soldier showing such valour under fire and against such odds, would have been acclaimed a hero. Safely-ensconced, unprincipled journalist-critics, never facing risk greater than exposure for persistent misrepresentation, should ponder how they would have acted in Omar’s situation – with far less gallantry one can be sure.
After having heartlessly betrayed and abandoned him, the Government now should show contrition and even pride in accepting Omar back. He has endured a painful and unnecessary ordeal at the hands of vindictive hypocrites; the same scheming charlatans who purport to “defend human rights” in other countries while violating and abolishing them in their own. Omar Khadr deserves a hero’s welcome, generous compensation and public rehabilitation of his loyal, wrongly maligned, patiently caring family.
As ever,
Ian V. Macdonald
