The State of Israel is truly “a remarkable Divine miracle right before our very eyes“.

April 5, 2012

South Africa’s Chief Rabbi Warren Goldstein explains that we have witnessed the greatest miracles in Jewish history in our lifetime. The State of Israel is truly “a remarkable Divine miracle right before our very eyes“.

In truth, the continued existence of the Jewish People throughout history is perhaps the biggest “wonder” of history since creation. Nation after nation threatens destroy the Jewish People. Yet they all fade away into oblivion, while the Jewish Nation survives and thrives.

As we say each year at the Passover Seder, “In very generation they rise up against us to destroy us, but the Holy One Blessed Be He saves us from their hands.” And for this we are eternally grateful…

Watch this powerful video featuring the wisdom and insight of Rabbi Goldstein as well as the inspiring music of Yaakov Shwekey. The combination will surely touch your soul and help you to appreciate our most precious Gift for Passover.  Israel !

Zeev Jabotinsky

April 5, 2012

The following excerpt was written by Zev Jabotinsky in Warsaw, Poland on Tisha BeAv in 1937, TWO years before the Nazis invaded Poland.

“It is already THREE years that I am calling upon you, Polish Jewry, who are the crown of World Jewry. I continue to warn you incessantly that a catastrophe is coming closer. I became grey and old in these years, my heart bleeds, that you, dear brother and sisters, do not see the volcano which will soon begin to spit its all consuming lava. I see that you are not seeing this because you are immersed and sunk in your daily worries. Today, however, I demand from you trust. You were convinced already that my prognoses have already proven to be right. If you think differently, then drive me out of your midst! However, if you do believe me, then listen to me in this twelfth hour: In the name of G-d! Let anyone of you save himself, as long as there is still time, and time there is very little. What else I would like to say to you on this day of Tisha BeAv is whoever of you will escape from the catastrophe, he or she will live to see the exalted moment of a great Jewish wedding – the rebirth and rise of a Jewish state. I don’t know if I will be privileged to see it, but my son will! I believe in this, as I am sure that tomorrow morning the sun will rise. Eliminate the diaspora or the diaspora will surely eliminate you.”

Zeev (Vladimir) Jabotinsky was born on October 17, 1880 in Odessa, Russia. At age 18, he left for Italy and Switzerland to study law, where he also served as a correspondent for several well known Russian newspapers. His dispatches and articles were widely read, bringing him recognition as one of the most brilliant Russian journalists. Jabotinsky signed each dispatch and article with his literary pseudonym Altalena.

The horrors of the 1903 pogrom against the Jews of Kishinev had the profound effect of spurring Jabotinsky’s Zionist pursuits. He became a pivotal force in organizing self defense units and fighting for Jewish minority rights in Russia. Jabotinsky was elected as a delegate to the 6th Zionist Congress, the last in which Theodor Herzl participated. During this period, Jabotinsky championed the spread of Hebrew language and culture throughout Russia, as well as the establishment of the Hebrew University in Jerusalem.

Following the outbreak of World War I in 1914, he left for the front as a newspaper correspondent. While in Alexandria, his meeting with Joseph Trumpeldor sparked the beginning of his unflagging efforts to establish a Jewish Legion. Jabotinsky was singularly intent upon this goal, and refused to divert the plan by creating an auxiliary unit instead. Following diligent endeavors in London, final confirmation was received in August 1917 to create the first Jewish Legion. Jabotinsky also served in the British army as a lieutenant, seeing duty in the assault on the Jordan River crossings in the campaign to free Eretz Israel (Palestine) from Turkish rule. During Passover, 1920, Jabotinsky headed the Hagana in Jerusalem against Arab rioters, and was condemned by the British Mandatory Government to 15 years hard labor. Following a public outcry against the verdict, he received amnesty and was released from Acre prison.

From 1921, Jabotinsky served as a member of the Zionist Executive and became one of the founders of “Keren Hayesod.” Following a series of policy disagreements on the direction of the Zionist Movement, however, he seceded. In 1925, Jabotinsky established the Union of Zionists Revisionists (Hatzohar), which called for the immediate establishment of a Jewish State.

In 1923, the youth movement Betar (Brith Joseph Trumpeldor) was created. The new youth movement, with Jabotinsky at its head, imbued its members with a military and nationalistic spirit. During the years 1928-1929, he resided in Palestine and edited the Hebrew daily “Doar Hayom,” while undertaking increased political activity. When Jabotinsky left Eretz Israel (Palestine) on a lecture tour in 1929, the British administration denied him re-entry into the country. From that point until his death in 1940, Jabotinsky resided in the Diaspora.

In 1935, after the Zionist Executive rejected his political program and refused to clearly define the aim of Zionism as “the establishment of a Jewish state,” Jabotinsky resigned from the Zionist Movement. He later founded the New Zionist Organization (N.Z.O), which purported independent political activity for free immigration and the establishment of a Jewish State.

In 1937, the Irgun Tzvai Leumi, also known as Etzel or Irgun, became the military arm of the Jabotinsky movement, with him as its commander. The three entities headed by Jabotinsky, the New Zionist Organization, the Betar youth movement and the Irgun Tzvai Leumi, were the three operative extensions of the Jabotinsky movement. The New Zionist Organization served as the political arm, maintaining contacts with governments and other political bodies. Betar educated Diaspora youth for the liberation and building of Eretz Israel, and the Irgun Tzvai Leumi was the military arm fighting the enemies of Zionism. These three entities synchronized their efforts in organizing the Af Al Pi illegal immigration. This dramatic, intricate rescue effort involved over 30 ships setting sail from European ports to bring tens of thousands of illegal immigrants to Eretz Israel.

Throughout this period of intense political activity, Jabotinsky continued to write prolific poetry, novels, short stories and articles on politics, social and economic problems. Among his works, The Jewish Legion, Prelude to Delilah (Samson) and The Five served as particularly profound inspirations for Jews of the Diaspora. Jabotinsky was fluent in many languages and translated some of world literature’s best known classics into Hebrew.

During 1939-1940, Jabotinsky was active in Britain and the United States in endeavoring to establish a Jewish army to fight alongside the Allies against Nazi Germany.

On August 4, 1940, while visiting the Betar camp in New York, Zeev Jabotinsky suffered a massive, fatal heart attack. His will stipulated the request to be buried in Eretz Israel, only at the express order of the Hebrew Government of the future Jewish State. His last will and testament was indeed fulfilled by Levi Eshkol, Israel’s third Prime Minister: in 1964, Jabotinsky’s remains and those of his wife Jeanne were re-interred on Mount Herzl in Jerusalem.

Zeev Jabotinsky will be inscribed in the annals of the history of the Jewish People as a distinguished politician, journalist and philosopher. A visionary and inspirational leader who fought unceasingly and passionately for the establishment of the State of Israel and the return of the Jewish People.

*JDL* Parsha & Weekly Update

April 5, 2012

The Pesach Seder has more than it’s own share of opposites. It can be confusing: Are we commemorating our freedom and the Exodus from Egypt and slavery, or are we remembering the bitterness of our years as slaves under the cruel rule of the Pharaohs of Egypt. We recline, to demonstrate we are free. Yet we dip our food in salt-water to remind ourselves of the tears of our slavery. We drink the “Arba Kosos – four cups” of wine, which represent the “four languages of redemption,” but we eat charoses to commemorate the mortar bricks we were forced to make. Maror reminds us of the bitter times we spent in Egypt, yet we recline to demonstrate our liberty.

The explanation, however, is obvious. As our Sages put it, “Light is only fully recognized when emerging from darkness.” One can only appreciate the importance of freedom after he fully understands what slavery entails. To truly praise Hashem for taking us out of Egypt, we must first learn about slavery, and even perform physical symbols to bring home to us how bitter it actually was.
As I review  the bold steps taken by the JDL over the past year, I feel overwhelmed  with pride.  It was JDL that forced  our community to become aware of  the threat of radical Islam.  Just two short years ago, leaders of our community would have so called inter faith meetings with leaders of radical Islam.  JDL exposed those groups and these meetings no longer occur.
There is another issue that JDL is determined to pursue.  The issue is hallal certification.  It was recently revealed that some of the funds given for hallal certification is forwarded to Hamas front groups.
The issue of halal slaughter has been much in the news lately in Quebec. Quebecers have discovered that a lot of the meat sold in Quebec is halal, even though it may not be labeled as such. Just how much unmarked halal meat passes over supermarket checkout counters has become a topic of debate.

Then there is the question of where all the money goes. In order to have its meat certified halal, a slaughterhouse must pay a fee to an official certification outfit. All halal certification in Canada is controlled by the Muslim Association of Canada (MAC). The franchise is lucrative, and MAC rakes in a lot of cash, thanks to the halal racket.

It turns out that a large chunk of money makes its way through the zakat process into the pockets of Islamic terrorist organizations. In the following video, Marc Lebuis of Point de Bascule talks to Michael Coren about the results of his site’s investigation into the money trail from the halal slaughterhouses to Hamas.

Many thanks to Vlad Tepes for uploading this video:

The accompanying article at Pointe de Bascule is lengthy and rich in detail. Here’s the introductory section:

Muslim Association of Canada: a contributor to Hamas fund collector controls halal certification in Quebec

Part 1 — Presentation and General Conclusions

In her March 13 report broadcast on Dumont le midi TV show, journalist Caroline Lacroix revealed that Olymel pays thousands of dollars to the “Association des viandes halal that is controlled by Abou-Baker-Assedique mosque” located at 371 Jean-Talon E. in Montreal for the halal certification of its chickens.

During his March 23 TV show that took place after the halal issue was addressed at the Quebec National Assembly, Mario Dumont highlighted that all political parties in Quebec City had been very careful not to bring up the financial aspect of the issue:

Mario Dumont — video 04:19: Nobody discussed the money issue. What does it fund? Where does the money go? Are we financing mosques without knowing it? It seems that this issue is even more taboo. Everybody is very careful not to talk about it.

Point de Bascule spent the last few days at finding an answer to Mario Dumont’s legitimate question. Who is pulling the strings behind this Aboubakerseddik Mosque on Jean-Talon Street that receives commissions from companies like Olymel, that get their chickens halal certified, as we have learned on March 13?

Here are the main conclusions that we can draw at this time:

1.   The mosque is part of a cultural centre. The centre also acts as an organization providing halal certification under a different name. We are dealing with one enterprise involved in two activities: management of recreation and culture and meat inspection.
2.   The certification agency is controlled by the Muslim Association of Canada (MAC), the main Muslim Brotherhood organization in Canada. MAC owns the building where the certification agency and the cultural centre are based and the administrators of the certification agency are former MAC directors or they have publicly endorsed MAC’s positions in the past.
3.   For the last ten years, MAC has been an important contributor to IRFAN-Canada, the Hamas fund collector in the country. Hamas is involved in a program aiming not only at the elimination of the state of Israel but also at the destruction of Western civilization. In a speech given on October 2011, its leader Mahmoud Al-Zahhar stated that “This (Western) civilization will not be able to withstand the great and glorious Islam.” The Canada Revenue Agency revoked IRFAN-Canada’s charity status in April 2011 after having concluded that it financed the terrorist organization Hamas.
4.   MAC’s halal program is part of a global Muslim Brotherhood’s strategy. In 2010 in Islamabad, a leader of the Islamist organization, the mufti of Bosnia, Mustafa Ceric, urged Muslims “to conquer the world through Halal movement.”

Before having been able to analyse all legal implications related to the halal issue, Point de Bascule would like to make two proposals as a starter:

1.   All products for which commissions are being paid to imams for halal certification should be properly identified.
2.   No public money should be spent to buy products that will be served in schools, in daycare centres, in military bases, in prisons and in other public institutions if these products have been certified by imams who belong to organizations that received money or gave money to terrorist organizations’ fund collectors or if they are involved in a project aiming at destroying Western civilization from within.

It would be beneficial that private certification agencies be set up to guaranty that the products that they approve come from animals who have been desensitized before being slaughtered and that no profit coming from the sale of their certified products will go to the financing of Islamic jihad…

Read the rest at Point de Bascule.

The JDL will pursue this issue.  The JDL  will  confront and expose the Muslim Brotherhood in Canada.  There is a terror threat in Canada.  It is our job to place all radical Islamic groups under the microscope.  The Jewish Community must speak up.  The JDL campaign will feature public forums in many cities, press conferences, public rallies and other intelligence gathering operations.  Join us.
It is my hope that all members of JDL enjoy a meaning and joyful Passover.  Make this Passover different.  Talk about the important issues and relate it to the exodus from Egypt.  Remember these important facts;

Dec 22, 2011 Egyptian Muslim Brotherhood Leaders Caught on Video Calling for Killing of Jews As the Muslim Brotherhood moves into positions of power in Egypt, they call for the killing of the Jews, as caught on tape below.

Genocidal Islamic Jew-Hatred: Egyptian Muslim Brotherhood leaders quote Prophet Muhammad at al-Azhar conference: “O Muslim, this is a Jew behind me, come and kill him”

While the much of the West was still congratulating themselves for their role in supporting the so-called ‘Arab Spring,’ Muslim Brotherhood members (the soon-to-be rulers of “the new Egypt”) were at al-Azhar Mosque in Cairo on 25 November calling for genocide against Jews….

… and an other
Egyptian cleric, a brainwashed (through Islam) childeren, a Jerusalem Mufti
call also in public to genocide the Jews (quoting Bukhari)

Now is the time to join JDL.  There is so little time left and our enemies are working for our destruction 24 hours a day.  Turning a blind eye is not an option.  Now is the  time for action.  The JDL needs money and more good people to join us.

Gary McHale keynote speech + Yad Vashem bus trip + JDL prayer for Merlyn Kinrade + Obama petition

April 5, 2012
Hello followers of Israel Truth Week, and Caledonia friends & supporters,
1. GARY MCHALE KEYNOTE SPEECH NOW AVAILABLE: Gary McHale’s speech from the afternoon session of the Israel Truth Week conference was a crowd favourite, and is now available on video along with his speaking notes. Links here:
This video of Gary’s speech inside a church is attracting praise from as far away as Manitoba from those who have watched it, and listened to his Biblical defence of Israel, the Biblical case against anti-Semitism, and his inspiring call to action – for Christians especially: that we must be prepared to pay a price for justice and equality and the other values we profess to believe in. Spoken, of course, by a man who has more than earned the right to speak on the subject.
As I told Gary when his presentation was over, “I have been waiting 5 years for this speech.”
2. CDN SOCIETY FOR YAD VASHEM BUS TRIP: I am very pleased to report that we have now registered enough passengers for our Yad Vashem-sponsored bus trip to the National Holocaust Memorial Day ceremony in Ottawa on April 23rd. If you would like to be on the waiting list in event of a cancellation, please send me an email with your name and phone #.

3. JEWISH DEFENCE LEAGUE PRAYER FOR MERLYN KINRADE: When the JDL folks found out that Caledonia hero Merlyn Kinrade had made the trip to stand with them at the Israel Consulate during March 30th’s ‘Global March to Jerusalem’ threat despite feeling unwell from the cancer growing inside him, they honoured him with a special ‘Mi Sheberach’ prayer for the sick. See this updated article which now has even more pictures from the Israel Consulate vigil in Toronto:

Many, many thanks for this kindness from our Jewish friends.

4. PETITION TO OBAMA TO SUPPORT ISRAEL: Goldi Steiner of Canadians for Israel’s Legal Rights (CILR) asked Israel Truth Week to circulate a link to a petition organized by the National Conference on Jewish Affairs (NCJA) calling on President Obama to stand with Israel and for a united Jerusalem under Israeli sovereignty, which I have signed: :

CILR is the publisher of the book ‘The Jewish People’s Rights to the Land of Israel’ by Salomon Benzimra:
