Vayakhel-Pekudai 5772 — by Rav Nachman Kahana on 15/03/2012
BS”D Parshiot Vayakhel-Pekudai 5772 Shemot 35:1

And Moshe assembled the whole community of Israel and said to them, “These are the things the LORD has commanded you to do.

The presence of 600,000 men, and a much larger number of women, and innumerous children was an awesome spectacle. They were riveted together as a single body and mind, captivated by Moshe’s every word, as he described how, starting at that moment, they were to prepare for their future in Eretz Yisrael.

Moshe focused on the two dimensions which define Man’s relationship with his environment – time and space, and whose specific details define the Jewish nation’s relationship with the Creator; the time of Shabbat and the space of the Bet Hamikdash in Eretz Yisrael. [Read More…]

The ‘Palestinian Authority’ has declared a Baptist church in Bethlehem ‘illegitimate,’ withdrawing its rights to document births and deaths and to consecrate marriages.

The church can still gather to pray, for now, but the PA’s decision conveyed on Saturday will have a real impact on the members of First Baptist, which endured numerous bomb attacks during the First Intifada.

“They said that our legitimacy as a church from a governmental point of view is not approved,” said Khoury’s son, Steven, who serves as an assistant pastor at First Baptist. “They said they will not recognize any legal paper work from our church. That includes birth certificates, wedding certificates and death certificates. Children are not even considered to be legitimate if they don’t have recognized paperwork.”

The irony, Steven said, is that the PA’s announcement comes right after the Christ at the Checkpoint Conference.

See Hadar Sela’s reports (here, here and here) for more background on the other extremists and terror supporters organizing the upcoming (March 30th) Global March to Jerusalem.

The march will confirm that the policies and practices of the racist Zionist state of Israel against Jerusalem and its people, are a crime not only against Palestinians but against all humanity.
We are holding a Benefit Dinner to help send Canadian organizers to the march.
In commemoration of Palestinian Land Day, the dinner will be held on Friday March 23, 2012, to help raise funds for the cause and to shed light on Israeli occupation in the region.
The evening’s program includes dinner (halal), speakers from the community, personal accounts on Palestine and Lebanon, poetry, and religious leaders from different faiths.
