On the Islamophobia Train: The Rabbi and the Imam

by Phyllis Chesler and Fern Sidman Israel National News
March 16, 2012

As Islamist terrorists are being arrested in Baku for a plot to attack both the American and Israeli Embassies; as Muslims torture, murder, and exile Christians from their native Arab lands; as Hamas constantly bombards Israeli civilians with rockets launched from Gaza; even as Iran is threatening to send many “caravans of tens of thousands” of hostile Iranians to march on Jerusalem—guess what subject drew 225 eager audience members and the media to an upper west side Jewish Community Center?

6 million Jews in Israel and ONE MILLION of them are in bombshelters

March 16, 2012

“The following is a letter sent to a friend of mine (yesterday) in Holland describing the trauma Israeli’s are living with due to the barrage of rockets coming from Gaza. What will it take for the world to condemn the perpetrators of these heinous assaults?  How long can the Israelis sustain the ‘degradation’ as described below?”

I Just came home from my clinic  in Ashkelon 8:00 to 19:00 work day  and then   shopping for Sabbath because life goes on /During the day today  (Thursday )no sirens were heard in Ashkelon and one starts to believe that cease fire is kept more or less although yesterday and today Grad rockets were fired on Beer Sheva.  Then there will be no school tomorrow again like today!Do the people in Holland understand what it means that “children do not go to school “   but the parents do have to go to their work!! Just imagine!!You cannot leave your children alone !!

That means  grand parents should come over  or baby sits or working from home      It is a huge problem Those rockets do not only fly in the sky  they do land and destroy everything around. I was shocked Tuesday in Ashdod when grad rocket  fell behind the  house my son (down syndrome with  group of youngsters) that all windows and doors and walls were Doorzeefd with little bullets. So children can absolutely not be left alone without supervision. And that apart from the fact that nobody  grown up nor child wants to be alone in these days  And I speak from my own experience

I am 53 years old  and my husband is still In Switserland.  I am alone at home and I am not afraid but feel very unsure and uneasy I can’t take the risk of taking a shower because during a shower you cannot hear the alarm and that might become your death.

You won’t believe it There is an alarm  just now!!!   it is 20:49   Unbelievable there were 3 rockets !!!!!   I walked outside ( Something which is absolutely forbidden) and apart from the alarm siren  I also heard and saw 2 missiles from the iron dome system fired from Ashdod Beautiful!!  What a Jidische Kopf   what a  precision  and I saw 2 Grad rockets explode above Ad Halom: what a fire work!!! Quit dangerous for me because debris can hit me and that would be stupid       The third Grad rocket  got through or was not meant to be hit  and fell in empty fields between Ashdod and where I live :  quit a BOOM  when it exploded  on inpact with the groundI can understand that firing a missile of the iron dome is 200.000 dollars each so we do not bother destroying a grad-rocket  which direction is calculated to go to open fields  but Excuse me I AM LIVING IN THOSE OPEN FIELDS!!  Our Moshav village  is so small but it is on the line to the air force base  a favorite goal (like the Harbor of Ashdod) My heart beats quickly/ I Phoned my son They also went down to their safety room. He is OKay. They are very brave      these children These mildly handicapped youngsters ask me all the time:” why the Muslims from Gaza strip shoot missiles to our house”?    I have no answer  I try to tell them that they blame us for everything  :but they answer me :” that is no reason to throw rockets “

The problem is that it starts really to work on your nerves  Even on my nerves  and certainly on the children’s  In my pediatric clinic in Ashkelon ( 6600 children) so many children are not normally  functioning e.g. do not sleep,  do not go outdoors ,  do not learn,  are irritated on their sibling and parents, cannot play outside, they all have constipation you can not relax on the toilet, every body has a headache !!!!ADHD worsens enormously, many do not leave the safety room,  do not dare to go upstairs to their own room to get a toy and that is normal reaction

Many have abnormal reactions: anxiety syndromes or post traumatic stress syndrome certainly those who witnessed an inpact and distruction of his house or neighbours house ? they can never forget what they saw!  we have had 250 inpacts last week ! do you understand how many children are traumatized?? Nobody dares to go out doing shopping: you cannot leave the children alone at home  neither can you take them with you to the streets:  alarm can go off every minute of the day   The shops tonight where I was,  were empty!!  only the brave go shopping and shop also for the others : group wise   The problem is that you cannot relax for a second . it is like trying to fall asleep the night burglars emptied you house!  you simply cannot fall asleep  Adrenaline is to high and this is now one week!!!  It makes me angry that nobody condemns it  .Is it so acceptalble to shoot on Israel??

On TV they just said that 3 rockets were fired: 2 were taken down by the iron dome system  and 1 fell in a open field next to Ashdod exactly what I saw myselfI can tell you that I did not hear any airplanes leave the base next door  until now  to “answer” their rocket attack on Ashdod : perhaps later. We have to do something!! You cannot sit all the time!!   1 million people in Israel are sitting ducks and run as idiots to a shelter when siren is sound like a trained lab mouse! it is degrading >  we have to do something and I hope Europe understands  we have to try to hit their fanatic leaders who teach them to destroy Israel by  shooting  the rockets and we have to try to destroy their ammunition. If we don’t  they will succeed and it will get to Europe as well

What a pity of their money  spent on Grad rockets! There could be prosperity to the inhabitant of Gaza if their money was spent better  It is late now ! I managed to finish cooking the soup for Shabath. My husband  will be back tomorrow.I hope I can sleep without sirens because alarm in the middle of the night  is really pissing me off: I NEED SOME SLEEP I have to function tomorrow at 08:00 as a doctor in Ashkelon

JDL Protest to Counter the Hamas Inspired Global March to Jerusalem

 Friday, March 30, 2012,

3:00 – 7:00 pm

Israel Consulate 180 Bloor Street West, Toronto

The Jewish Defence League is calling on all people of good will to defend freedom and stand outside all Israel Embassies and Consulates on March 30. Raise the flag of Israel high and proclaim your support for battle against Radical Islam.

The following Canadian groups endorse the Hamas Inspired Global March to Jerusalem,
1.Indep Jewish voices
2.Canadian Peace Alliance
3.Coalition against Israeli Apartheid
4.Canada Boat to Gaza,
5.Canadian Arab Federation
6.Crescent International
7.Canada Palestine association (Halifax(
8.Hamilton Coalition for Peace
9.Friends of Sabeel – North America
10.Palestine House
11.Palestinian Association of Brantford
12.Palestinian Association of Hamilton

For the global network of anti-Israel activists—those charmers who bring us the annual delight of “Israel Apartheid Week,” solidarity flotillas to Hamas-ruled Gaza, and Ivy League conferences dedicated to the destruction of Jewish sovereignty—there is only one cause in the world that counts.

Bashar al-Assad’s butchery in Syria? Forget it. The long nightmare of Zimbabwe under the demented rule of Robert Mugabe? They don’t want to know. The persecution of 100 million Christians by an assortment of Muslim and communist regimes? Not their problem. All they care about is, in the words of the organizers of the forthcoming Global March on Jerusalem, “the policies and practices of the racist Zionist state of Israel.”

Almost two years after the attack by Islamic extremists upon Israeli commandos who boarded a Turkish vessel that was attempting to break the blockade of Gaza, the same cast of villains is lining up for a march upon Jerusalem. The city that was liberated and unified following Israel’s victory in the 1967 Middle East war is now the site, say the march organizers, of “ethnic cleansing” against Palestinians and “Judaization (sic) policies.” And so, on March 30, they plan to have 1 million marchers gathering on Israel’s land borders, with the aim of converging upon Jerusalem. They are also calling for protests at all Israel Embassies and Consulates.

And what a motley crew they are. Among the endorsers of the march is the pro-Taliban Islamic Movement of Afghanistan, and alongside the Afghan Islamists you will find the Berlin branch of the Boycott, Divestment and Sanctions (BDS) campaign against Israel—a perfect opportunity to dust down those “Kauft Nicht Bei Juden” (“Don’t Buy From Jews”) signs brandished by their grandparents and great-grandparents on the streets of Nazi Germany. From Britain comes the “Viva Palestina” organization led by George Galloway, an insidious former parliamentarian with a long-held penchant for tyrants and dictators, among them Saddam Hussein, Syria’s Assad family and the Iranian regime.

Then there are those described by the organizers of the march, with no hint of irony, as “VIPs.” Their number includes the former Malaysian Prime Minister, Mahathir Mohamed, who, in a January 2010 address to a conference of Islamists, bemoaned the fact that “the Holocaust failed as a final solution…Jews survived to continue to be a source of even greater problems for the world.” Alongside Mahathir is his fellow Malaysian, Anthony Fernandes, the CEO of Air Asia (an airline readers are duly urged to boycott).

Most disgraceful is the presence of those Christian clergy who round upon Israel while ignoring the appalling plight of Christians in Egypt, Iran and other Muslim countries. There is the South African Archbishop Desmond Tutu, who has energetically pushed the slander that Israel is actually worse than the old apartheid regime in South Africa. Next to Tutu is the Greek Orthodox Archbishop, Hilarion Cappucci, who was imprisoned by the Israeli authorities in 1974 for smuggling weapons to Palestinian terrorists.

Still, as ugly as all this is, one may well ask whether the Global March on Jerusalem is that significant. After all, Israel faces a much graver range of threats, from Iran’s nuclear ambitions through to the Hamas and Hezbollah terrorists aiming missiles at Haifa, Ashkelon, Tel Aviv and other cities. With that in mind, I asked Adam Levick, a blogger and pro-Israel activist who has launched a website to expose the agenda of the march——why we should care in the first place.

“The organizers and leadership of the Global March to Jerusalem are comprised almost exclusively of terror supporters and extremists who oppose a Jewish state within any borders,” Levick told me. “They are intent on organizing a potentially violent provocation.”

In looking back at the 2010 Gaza flotilla, Levick argues that we ignore such initiatives at our peril. “The true nature of the terrorist-provoked violence on board the Turkish ship was disseminated too late,” he said. “We have to do what we can to prevent the Global March on Jerusalem from portraying itself to the media as a non-violent, humanitarian action.”

Here we arrive at the heart of the matter. The aim of the marchers is not to promote non-violence, but to instigate violence. More than anything else, they want to put Israel’s defenders in the position of having to open fire, so that images of “Zionist brutality” can then be broadcast around the world. If that happens, we can expect all sorts of loathsome comparisons between Israel and Syria, as though there were no difference between a massacre of innocents in the city of Homs and a clash sparked by terrorist sympathizers.

Speaking of Syria, it should be pointed out that the Assad regime—at the same time as it continues its assault on Homs—will be enabling marchers to assemble along its border with Israel, exactly as it did last June, when a raging mob attacked Israeli border guards on the Golan Heights. Assad is desperately looking for ways to divert attention from his crimes. That so-called human rights activists like Archbishop Tutu would assist him in doing so is the most terrible indictment of all.

“Credit, where it is due” – by Marc PROWISOR

This March marks tens years since one of the most horrid attacks and massacres that occurred during the Intifada or the War of 2000. This “uprising” or more accurately war, as some like to call it has actually yet to end. It is a war of ups and downs. The particular incident I am referring to is the attack at Wadi Haramiya, ” the Valley of the Thieves”.  This particular attack occurred approximately 22 miles north of Jerusalem on road 60, known to us as the Way of the Patriarchs, between the communities of Ofra and Shilo. This attack claimed the lives of ten people, twelve were badly wounded, and many others scared for life.

They LIE about Israeli “apartheid”/

March 16, 2012

The 8th Israeli Apartheid Week (IAW) started last night with an opening event at the University of Toronto. It was much less enthusiastic than last year when the hall was packed and they didn’t even have seats for everybody. This year they attracted a much smaller audience, probably about 70 people, in a half-empty hall, including the same elderly people, who want to experience again the passion of the 1960’s, with a few progressive students; not many Muslims and only one hijab.

Apartheid in Israel does not exist, however gender apartheid, apartheid against gays, as well as slavery and racism against blacks, Palestinians and non-Muslims are all commonplace in the Muslim world.

Vayakhel-Pekudai 5772 — by Rav Nachman Kahana on 15/03/2012
BS”D Parshiot Vayakhel-Pekudai 5772 Shemot 35:1

And Moshe assembled the whole community of Israel and said to them, “These are the things the LORD has commanded you to do.

The presence of 600,000 men, and a much larger number of women, and innumerous children was an awesome spectacle. They were riveted together as a single body and mind, captivated by Moshe’s every word, as he described how, starting at that moment, they were to prepare for their future in Eretz Yisrael.

Moshe focused on the two dimensions which define Man’s relationship with his environment – time and space, and whose specific details define the Jewish nation’s relationship with the Creator; the time of Shabbat and the space of the Bet Hamikdash in Eretz Yisrael. [Read More…]

The ‘Palestinian Authority’ has declared a Baptist church in Bethlehem ‘illegitimate,’ withdrawing its rights to document births and deaths and to consecrate marriages.

The church can still gather to pray, for now, but the PA’s decision conveyed on Saturday will have a real impact on the members of First Baptist, which endured numerous bomb attacks during the First Intifada.

“They said that our legitimacy as a church from a governmental point of view is not approved,” said Khoury’s son, Steven, who serves as an assistant pastor at First Baptist. “They said they will not recognize any legal paper work from our church. That includes birth certificates, wedding certificates and death certificates. Children are not even considered to be legitimate if they don’t have recognized paperwork.”

The irony, Steven said, is that the PA’s announcement comes right after the Christ at the Checkpoint Conference.

See Hadar Sela’s reports (here, here and here) for more background on the other extremists and terror supporters organizing the upcoming (March 30th) Global March to Jerusalem.
