Candle Light Vigil: September 11, 2010” – by ‘Ghost of a Flea’

Today, JDL Canada staged a peaceful vigil by candle light at the United States Consulate in Toronto. The event marked nine years since the atrocities of September 11, 2001 and protested plans to build a mosque at Ground Zero. It was a night to fight back for justice and truth.

A coming storm was in the wind and it was a challenge to keep a candle lit against the dark. But then Scripture suggests Our Father is, amongst other things, the Lord of Metaphor.

Meir Weinstein, National Director of the Jewish Defence League of Canada, addressed the vigil acknowledging the work of Pamela Geller and today’s 9/11 Rally of Remembrance in New York City. He told the vigil of the good news – to cheers – Geert Wilders had traveled to New York to address the rally in support of the human rights organization American Freedom Defense Initiative (FDI) and Stop Islamization of America (SIOA).

Meir Weinstein alerted the vigil to an interview request he had granted to Al Jazeera’s Avi Lewis, perhaps better known internationally as Mr. Naomi Klein. Weinstein took the precaution of independently recording the 45 minute interview. It will be interesting to learn if Lewis includes his own admission of bias having been raised in an “anti-Zionist” tradition or whether Al Jazeera will air Weinstein’s forthright declaration of the truth:

There will be no peace in the Middle East until the Arabs apologize for what they have done to the Jewish people.”

Am Yisrael Chai.
