Talking about Iran’s nuclear capability on ANB Lebanese television on June 27, 2009, Abd Al-Bari Atwan, editor-in-chief of Al-Quds Al-Arabi newspaper, said, “If the Iranian missiles strike Israel, by Allah, I will go to Trafalgar Square and dance with delight.” Video here.

This Shabbat is called Shabbat HaGadol. It is the Shabbat that proceeds the Jewish Holiday of PeSach (Passover) On this Shabbat, the Jewish People will recall the self sacrifice it took in order to break spirit of the evil Egyptian Regime. This is not a lite matter.

Parsha, Week of March 21 2010

This week we read the double-parsha of Vayakhel-Pekudai and complete the Sefer {Book of} Shmos. These two Parshios deal with the actual production of the Mishkan {Tabernacle}, its vessels and the garments of the Kohanim {priests}. Once that had been completed, Shmos concludes with the Shchinah {Hashem’s presence} filling the Mishkan. The Ramban explains that Shmos, the Sefer of exile and redemption, ends with Jewish People being in that ultimate redeemed state of intense closeness to Hashem.

A foreign worker was fatally injured by the rocket and died from his injuries shortly afterwards; five rockets fired in the past 48 hours

A foreign civilian was killed on Thursday morning (Mar. 18) by a Qassam rocket that hit a hothouse in a kibbutz neighboring the Gaza Strip. The man was fatally injured by the strike of the rocket. A Magen David Adom ambulance team arrived at the scene and transferred the man to the Barzilai Medical Center in Ashkelon. His death was pronounced shortly afterwards, when he died from his injuries.

On Wednesday night (Mar. 17), a Qassam rocket hit an open field north of Sderot; no injuries or damages were reported regarding this incident. In an earlier incident on the same evening, an additional Qassam rocket was fired at the Sha’ar HaNegev Regional Council, as well as two more rockets on Tuesday (Mar. 16). No injuries or damages were reported regarding these rocket firings.

The parsha mentions by name, the architect of the Mishkan (Tabernacle). “1 The Lord spoke to Moses: 2 See, I have singled out by name Bezalel son of Uri son of Hur, of the of Judah. 3 I have endowed him with a divine spirit of skill, ability, and knowledge in every kind of craft; 4 to make designs for work in gold, silver, and copper, 5 to cut stones for setting and to carve wood — to work in every kind of craft.” (Ex 30)
