Anti Jewish / Anti Israel Groups announced they would be out in force on Saturday November 28, 2009 calling for a boycott of Israeli products sold at the Mountain Equipment Co-op (MEC)

Jewish Defence League of Canada held a Counter-Protest in Toronto.

And Yaakov awoke from his sleep and said, “Surely HASHEM is present in this place and I did not know!” And he became frightened and said, “How awesome is this place! This is none other than the house of G-d and this is the gate of the Heavens.” (Breishis 28:16-17)

After experiencing in a dream state the prophetic vision of a ladder stretching from Earth to the Heavens and receiving a shower of protective blessings Yaakov wakes up to the reality of the Holiness of “The Place” and declares, “I did not know!” According to the Sages, ‘The Place’ was The Temple Mount. And when Yaakov came to this reality, he said, ‘How awesome is this place’.

The Jewish People need to wake up from their sleep and proclaim about the Land of Israel, ‘How awesome is this place’. And if the Jewish People did wake up from their sleep, they would be proud and fearless.

JDL-Canada Parsha of week of October 27

And Hashem said to Avram, “Go (to) (for) yourself, from your land, from your birth place, from your father’s house, to the land that I will show you. (Breishis 12:1)

These words that G-d spoke to Avram is the foundation of the Jewish claim to the Land of Israel. The true borders of the Land of Israel are much larger than the current borders of the Jewish State of Israel. It is to our regret that some of our people desire to abandon our just claim to all of the Land of Israel. Avram lived in the Land of Israel and was buried in Hebron.

On Wednesday November 4th, the Reform Judaism Movement will have a convention in Toronto. A resolution will be presented which calls for the Arab of Israel to be given full rights in the Government of Israel. This means, as an example, that an ‘Israeli’ Arab should be given the right to be the Defense Minister. The resolution negates the right of the Jewish People to a Jewish State in the Land of Israel.
